This volume has 21 patterns, plus variations. There are sweaters for women, men, and children. All of the patterns in this book have been designed by Védís Jónsdóttir, Iceland's most accomplished and best known knit designer. Every one of these designs reflects her marvelous talent, and she includes her comments about every pattern.

Lopi is a specialized Icelandic wool now produced by the company Istex. The company has its roots in wool production starting in 1896, and Lopi yarn has become world renown for its warmth and lightness, color palettes, and fair isle designs.
