It’s been one year since we opened our doors! You’ve been amazing in your support through a crazy year. Every day someone asks how we're doing, and you’ve gone out of your way to support us (in person and online). As much as I love fiber and knitting, it can’t compare to that feeling. THANK YOU!!
First, the not-fun but very important Covid update.
Another thank you for being so respectful of our mask policy and of others. We’ve all heard the mask kickback stories, but I’ve never once seen it from you. Business was slow over the summer so social distancing wasn’t a problem. Now that knitting season and the holidays are here, I want to communicate what we’re doing/asking to keep you safe.
- We’ll be cleaning surfaces in the morning and throughout the day.
- Masks are required. If you forgot yours, just ask. We’ll have one for you.
- Only 8 people (including staff) in the shop at one time. Do a quick look around and count heads. It’s a pain, but if there are 8 please wait your turn.
- During slow times only, one person at a time may sit and knit. Be situationally aware. If it’s getting busy, come again when it’s not.
- Keep in mind the 6-foot rule. You might not be worried about it, but the person next to you may have good reason to be.
- In-store pickup is always a quick and easy option on our website.
Now get out your calendars. We have some fun things planned for our birthday month!
Tuesday, November 3rd-the New Year: We’re hosting a Brooklyn Tweed trunk show and Pop-Up Shop!! The yarn is here and the trunk show is on its way! I’m really excited about this opportunity. BT designs, sources, dyes and spins their yarns 100% in the US. They’re local to our area and work to create size-inclusive patterns. (Thank you!) Their priorities show in the quality of their product, and I’m proud to show off their yarn. I can’t wait to get it on my needles.
Friday, November 6th: The Wildfire Fundraiser KAL begins. Knit for the Soul has designed two beautiful patterns (cowl and shawl) now available for presale on Ravelry. She’s donating a percentage of the sales to the listed wildfire relief charity of your choice. Knowing their yarns would be perfect for the pattern, I contacted local dyers Driftwood Farms about yarn options. They’ve had family affected by the fires and jumped at the chance. We’re working with them to put together some really special kits. Because this yarn is dyed specifically for the KAL, at this time the kits are available for preorder only through our website https://wildknitssalem.com/, a
Friday and Saturday, November 13-14th: Anniversary Weekend! Stop by and say hi. We’ll have some special treats, gifts, and coupons for you!
Friday, November 27: Wild Knits’ Advent Kits will be available for purchase and you’ll get to take home #1 of 4. After you’ve made your purchase, one kit will be ready for pickup starting Tuesday of each week. By the time your kits are finished, you’ll have something special for the holidays. These are small, no-pressure projects meant to add a little fun to your holiday season, and if you’re a week or two behind no worries. You can jump in anytime.
Friday and Saturday, November 27 & 28th: Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. We’ll have special deals and coupons with purchase. More details TBA.
In addition to the above, we’re putting together some great kits and gifts to help with holiday shopping. And if you haven’t been in for a bit, we now carry tea and teaware… Smith Tea, First Sip, Simpson & Vale, Adagio and bulk teas. I think we have the best of the best!
With everything going on, our priority is your health and safety. We so appreciate you and thank you for your support.
~Best, Holly
