Spring Shop Happenings

Happy Spring!

We're excited to announce construction on our new space is finished! We’re working on a few final touches, but we can’t wait to put it to good use. Below are a few opportunities to utilize it and get to know one another.

Events & Happenings

Open Knit Time

You’re invited to stop by Beginning April 20 and April 22 for open knit and crochet time Wednesdays from 11:00-1:00 and Fridays from 4:00-6:00. There’s no signup and no agenda, just a chance to work on projects and get to know one another!

April 30, LYS Day

We’re especially excited about Local Yarn Store Day this year. It occurred to us that as you support us (something we’re incredibly thankful for), we should use the opportunity to support local dyers and designers. With our exclusive LYS Day skeins from Blu Fiber Company and the Road Ahead Wrap by Kelly Forster (see KAL below), we’ve put together some fabulous kits to share the love! We have a limited number, so when they’re gone, they’re gone. We’ll also have LYS Day colorways by Alexandra, the Art of Yarn and will be revealing our Wild Knits 'Wild & Wooly' signature scent candle. Pretty exciting stuff!! Shopping small and local has a ripple effect. When you support us, we’re able to support local artisans with amazing talent.

May-Aug, Summer KAL

For this summer’s KAL, we’ll be joining Knitted Wit for Socks on Vaca. From May through August, we’ll receive new National Park colorways only offered to participating Local Yarn Shops. By getting stamps on your postcard, you’ll have the opportunity to earn patches, pins, and prizes. We’ll also be holding Knit Togethers just for this KAL (more info to come). If you’re intimidated by socks, group knits are an invaluable way to learn from one another. Plus, socks are the perfect travel and warm weather project. So, whether you’re fairly new to sock knitting or a seasoned pro, we hope you’ll join us to learn and share.

Then, if you have any questions as you work, you can stop in any following Tuesday for help.

May 27-Sep 5, Slow Yarn Crawl

This will be our first year taking part in the PNW Slow Yarn Crawl. This Crawl is spaced over a longer period (hence the slow!), giving more time to enjoy each shop and work on projects. Passports are available for preorder from us, and you’ll receive stamps for every shop visited, plus the opportunity to win prizes. A beautiful pattern designed especially for us by Kelly Forster will be available free to participants! A BIG thank you Kelly!

New Inventory

Oh the fun things we've been adding for spring!! We received a new shipment from Hawthorne Handmade. This includes new to the shop kits (love the little Triceratops!), as well as restocking the consistent favorites. Warning: the Alpaca sells out quickly.

Shop felting kits

I'm really excited about the order of Kaliko project bags we just received. These bags are screenprinted botanicals, hand sewn, and hand dyed using organic pigment. The result is a beautifully soft color. In addition, we should be receiving a new shipment from Atenti Bags any day, including the well-loved MammaLlama bags.

It's such a treat to find artists whose love for knitting and crochet is expressed in their art. Erin Kate Archer is a watercolor artist who also happens to knit. Stop in to appreciate her beautiful prints and greeting cards.

We've also received multiple sets of Blu Fiber minis, including St.John's Bridge, Vista House, Hawthorne, and Ocean Fade (for starters!). Ocean Fade is also available as a set in full-sized DK weight skeins (above). Plus, restocks of Blue Sky Woolstok, Malabrigo Rios (including new colors!) and Mecha, Cascade 220SW and Heritage Sock.  Our sale tables also continue to grow as we make room for new inventory.

Sending you all kinds of successful project wishes and hope to see you soon. Thank youfor your continued support! ~ Holly
